We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer Intern to join our Data & Analytics team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience working with real enterprise data, modern data platforms, and cross-functional partners. The intern will support the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines that enable analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are passionate about data, technology, and learning how large-scale data systems are built and operated. What You'll Do Assist in building, maintaining, and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines that ingest data from multiple sources Support data integration efforts across operational systems, cloud platforms, and analytics tools Help with data validation, quality checks, and basic troubleshooting of data issues Write and optimize SQL queries to support analytics and reporting needs Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and analysts on active projects Document data flows, transformations, and technical logic Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand-ups Learn and apply data engineering best practices related to performance, reliability, and scalability What You'll Learn How enterprise data pipelines are designed and supported in production environments Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics architectures Practical experience working with structured and semi-structured data Collaboration with business and technical stakeholders Real-world application of data governance, data quality, and data modeling concepts Required Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field Basic knowledge of SQL Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python or Java Understanding of core data concepts (tables, joins, schemas, ETL) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Familiarity with data tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Spark, or similar Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) Coursework or projects related to data engineering, databases, or analytics What We Offer Hands-on experience with real enterprise data and systems Mentorship from experienced data engineers and BI professionals Exposure to modern data platforms and analytics workflows A collaborative, learning-focused team environment Opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real business problems What UDT Offers You Join us and be part of an inclusive, energizing, and collaborative environment.
