Leidos is in search of an accomplished Lead Cloud Engineer to support a large Air Force IT enterprise and Cyber Weapons System/Program in San Antonio, TX. Your Core Responsibilities: Architect, deploy, and manage complex virtual cloud infrastructures across hybrid environments, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud (IaaS & PaaS). Facilitate seamless integration across multiple Cloud teams and processes to create comprehensive solutions. Optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-native solutions. Automate resource deployments and configurations using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation. Provision, oversee, and scale cloud resources in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Monitor resource utilization, ensuring cost efficiency and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and infrastructure problems, performing root cause analysis as needed. Ensure compliance with security and operational standards within a DevSecOps framework. Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate infrastructure automation into the software development lifecycle. Implement containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes, for microservices deployment. Establish and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure application performance and availability. Identify improvements to enhance efficiency, minimize latency, and increase system uptime. Apply security best practices, including IAM, network segmentation, and encryption, for hybrid cloud infrastructures. Assist in compliance initiatives and audits (e.g., RMF, NIST, ISO 27001). Document procedures and troubleshooting steps to promote knowledge sharing. Guide and mentor junior engineers, contributing to team development. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience: Highly detail-oriented with strong technical, verbal, and written communication skills. Extensive experience with virtualization technologies: VMware, Hyper-V, and OpenStack. Expertise in government and DoD cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. Practical experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, such as Terraform and Ansible. Solid understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes). Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) and incident management. Familiarity with networking essentials, like VPCs, subnets, VPNs, and firewalls. Comprehensive knowledge of DevSecOps principles and methodologies. Qualifications: A Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, 12 years of experience may substitute for a master’s degree. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8 additional years of relevant experience may also qualify as a substitute. Must possess a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent). Advanced cloud certification required (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer). Active Secret Clearance is required, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Preferred Skills and Certifications: Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer. Security Certifications: CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or Cloud Security Automation (GCSA). Experience with security frameworks, such as RMF and NIST 800-53. Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash). Knowledge of log management and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, or ELK stack). Experience with SIEM and/or SOAR tools. Travel Requirements: Less than 10% travel is anticipated, which may include locations within and outside the continental United States. $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 This pay range is a guideline and is not a guarantee of salary. Other factors may be considered when making an offer, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
