Senior Machine Learning Engineering Platform Lead
to become a key member of our Machine Learning Platform team. This pivotal team is responsible for the core components of feature engineering and for training and serving ML models at Coinbase. You will get the opportunity to apply your engineering skills across various aspects of scalable ML solutions, including stream processing, distributed training, and highly available online services. Key Responsibilities: Assess the needs of our Machine Learning Engineers while identifying existing capabilities and gaps. Mentor junior engineers to foster high-quality software development and skill advancement. Enhance our engineering standards to ensure high availability and low latency for our ML inference infrastructure, which supports both predictive ML models and large language models (LLMs). Optimize low-latency streaming pipelines to supply fresh, high-quality data to our ML models. Promote cutting-edge practices for developing high-performance distributed training jobs capable of managing large data volumes. Create tools to monitor data quality for our models and to identify performance issues. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role. Strong foundational knowledge of distributed systems. Lead by example through high-quality coding and effective communication. Exceptional design skills, with the ability to clarify complex technical requirements. Understand other engineers as customers, focusing on delivering a seamless experience. Exemplify mastery of core principles that allow for quick adaptation across a variety of technologies while achieving high performance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in building ML models and engaging with ML systems. Background in platform teams and developing developer tools. Familiarity with relevant technologies (Python, Golang, Ray, Tecton, Spark, Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, and DynamoDB). Job #: P75014 Pay Transparency Notice:
The target annual salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $225,000, depending on work location. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include eligibility for bonuses, equity, and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
