As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and securing network infrastructures for end users, both for LLC and member-side clients. You will handle escalated network tickets, troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues, and oversee the deployment, renewal, and security of network devices. Additionally, you will work closely with account managersto procure and replace firewalls as needed. This role requires expertise in networking, security, and system management tools to ensure seamless and secure operations.
Schedule: Mon - Fri 10 AM - 7 PM
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure the security and integrity of all network-connected devices, implementing best practices to prevent vulnerabilities. Handle escalated network tickets related to end-user issues, including connectivity problems and performance degradation. Diagnose and resolve escalated alerts concerning network security and performance. Assist in the secure setup and deployment of new networking products and devices. Manage device renewals, ensuring proper security configurations for ongoing operations. Collaborate with account managers to procure and replace firewalls as necessary, ensuring compliance with security standards. Troubleshoot network infrastructure and perform secure product setups for clients. Utilize various network and security management tools, including BMS, ConnectWise, FortiManager, FortiCloud, Auvik, ControlOne, VSA, and N-Central. Maintain documentation and provide reports on network performance, security risks, and device health. Stay updated on emerging network security threats and industry best practices. Provide training and guidance to junior networking team members as needed. Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and troubleshooting. Experience with firewall management, VPN configuration, and network monitoring tools. Proficiency in networking tools and systems such as BMS, ConnectWise, FortiManager, FortiCloud, Auvik, ControlOne, VSA, and N-Central. Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle escalated technical issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and clients. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3+ years of experience in network security or network engineering, preferably in an MSP environment. Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods. Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard. Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Physical and mental stamina to work in a fast-paced IT environment.
