Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer to support a significant IT enterprise within the Air Force Cyber Weapons System/Program. This role will involve leading the design, deployment, and optimization of hybrid cloud and virtualization infrastructures across a variety of platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. In this role, you will utilize Infrastructure-as-Code tools, containerization, orchestration, and monitoring solutions to ensure operations are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud services, enforce security and compliance protocols, and facilitate CI/CD pipelines within a DevSecOps framework. You will also mentor junior engineers, troubleshoot complex challenges, and document processes to foster operational excellence and continuous improvement. Primary Responsibilities Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructures across both on-premises and commercial/government cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI using IaaS and PaaS solutions. Maintain and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-native virtualization solutions. Automate deployments, configurations, and scaling of resources through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation. Integrate various cloud teams, processes, and instances to deliver seamless enterprise-wide solutions. Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for microservices architectures. Monitor cloud and virtualization environments to guarantee availability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and system issues, conducting root cause analysis as necessary. Apply and enforce security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation, while ensuring compliance with frameworks like RMF, NIST, and ISO 27001. Support CI/CD pipelines and promote automation within the software development lifecycle. Configure and manage monitoring and incident management tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to uphold operational excellence. Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and consistency. Mentor junior engineers to encourage technical development and foster teamwork. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure solutions meet business and mission objectives. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) is required. An advanced cloud certification (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer) is mandatory. An active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI is necessary. Preferred Skills and Certifications: Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer. Security Certifications: CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or Cloud Security Automation (GCSA). Experience with security frameworks like RMF, NIST 800-53. Familiarity with scripting or programming languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Experience with log management and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, or ELK stack).
