About

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Estimator to join our growing commercial, and industrial team. The Electrical Estimator is responsible for the estimation process for industrial, commercial, and other large-scale electrical projects. This role involves calculating electrical construction costs, creating pace and production schedules, and collaborating with engineering and senior management to finalize and submit winning bid proposals. The Estimator ensures that all estimates are accurate, competitive, and align with the company's strategic goals. Additionally, this position requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, and labor costs, as well as fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
*SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS*
Eligible candidates are required to possess the following:
* Electrical Design Knowledge: Must have a strong understanding of electrical designs, plans, specifications, and equipment.
* Computer Skills: Must have advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel. Experience with estimating programs such as Accubid and Live Count is essential. Bluebeam competency preferred.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills are required to work effectively with engineers, customers, vendors, and senior management.
* Financial Acumen: Experience in understanding budget pricing, project costs, and profit margins.
* Reading Comprehension Skills: Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, blueprints, bid documents, business contracts, and other complex documents.
* Ability to Work Under Pressure: Must be able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines while staying organized and accurate.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Review and evaluate project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents to create bid proposals.
* Perform and input accurate take-offs.
* Manage RFI process, document and version control.
* Communicate with engineers and other leadership to develop a clear understanding of project scope during estimate preparation.
* Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating available documents.
* Analyze projects for value engineering options while considering specific job conditions that may affect labor and material to be purchased and installed.
* Capable of estimating projects up to $5 million.
* Identify and resolve any inconsistencies, conflicts, and other problems in bid documents.
* Implement processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Develop relationships with project team members, suppliers, general contractors, customers, and field crews.
* Identify opportunities for shop fabrication (prefab).
* Support pre-planning for projects.
* Manage budget development for successful projects.
* Maintain a database in Accubid.
* Support BIM development.
* Prepare cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explain variances and cost drivers.
* Identify strategies to create bid advantages.
* Anticipate potential problems and devise solutions proactively.
* Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers.
* Review quotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
* Prepare bid documents, including specific scope letters for each project.
* Collaborate with the project team on adjustments for buy-outs, labor rates, productivity, etc.
* Manage budget pricing.
* Manage seamless hand-off to projects team for execution, conveying scope, risks, and opportunities.
* Must successfully complete pre-employment drug testing.

*EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE*
* Successfully completed electrical 4- or 5-year apprenticeship (preferred).
* Successfully completed Construction Management Bachelor’s (preferred).
* Minimum of two years of electrical estimating experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience.
* A valid driver’s license may be required depending on job site assignments.
* Ability to lift 10 lbs.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Ability to prioritize important tasks and complete them first.
* Ability to work under pressure.
*Schedule:*
* 10 hour shift, Monday through Thursday typically. Occasional Fridays as required for bid delivery/clarifications.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
