Our client, a well-established, hugely successful and growing manufacturing company based in Thetford, are currently seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join their team.
This is a full time permanent role based in Thetford.
About the role:
Responsible for carrying out all phases of assigned projects covering a wide and varied range of disciplines including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. This will involve constructing 3D CAD models, technical drawings, engineering administration, engineering calculations and report preparation. You will also be required to manage all aspects of a design project’s full life cycle from conception to finished production product and work closely with other members of the team as well as other departments. The varied nature of ever-changing projects is sure to keep you interested & challenged on a daily basis.
Key Skills and Qualities
* Mechanical Engineering degree/HNC
* Experience with fabrication, welding, sheet metal is desirable
* Experience with 3D design software.
* Knowledge of different manufacturing techniques.
* Sound general computer skills utilising Microsoft Office suite
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
* Strong personal motivation.
