Job Summary: The Quality Intern will gain hands-on experience in one of Smurfit WestRock\u2019s manufacturing facility focusing in areas such as inspecting materials, generating reports and certificates of Analysis/Conformance (COA/COC), maintaining accurate and detailed records, along with assuring materials and processes comply with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. Throughout the assignments, there will be a heavy emphasis placed on safety, teamwork, and process improvement.
This is a 40 hour/week position held from the months of May - August 2026.
Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate and detailed COA\u2019s records; file/forward (electronic & manual), upload daily COA, s from Etobicoke and plants on P&G BOX system after 100% verification with Spec. Verify all suppliers COA for correctness and then upload on BOX.
* Physical verification of QA samples from floor and matching with COA, s before uploading on P&G website.
* Communicate with Shipping, Project Managers, Operations, Customers and suppliers if necessary to solve any issues.
* Perform functions of Quality Auditors as needed (line audits, random Quality checks, ensuring proper filling of COA etc.)
* Refresh operators on proper COA filing procedures, if required.
* Maintain noncompliance spread sheet daily to log any complaints/NCR, assign number to the complaint, update the log in NCR/CAPA binder
* Report noncompliance and out of specification issues for supplier, initiate the NCR process.
* Assist in maintaining Quality System documentation (Updating Binders etc.)
* Maintain Files and Records within department.
* Participate in and /or assist with preparations for internal QA audits, customer\u2019s audits and Regulatory agency audits as required.
* Assist with and / or conduct cGMP training, if requested.
* Perform other duties as required.
* Overtime may be needed.
* Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Other duties as required.
What you need to succeed:
* Must be 18 years old
* Enrolled in post-secondary with a related field
* Possess strong Microsoft and computer skills
* Able to collaborate with team members
* Possess strong organization skills and able to complete project tasks
* Have strong attention to detail
