The Opportunity
Join House of McGrath, our vibrant new downtown Toronto restaurant and brewery. As Chef, you'll craft exceptional dishes that complement our house-brewed beers, lead the kitchen team, and ensure every plate delivers a consistently outstanding guest experience through flawless execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute seasonal menus featuring fresh, local ingredients paired with brewery offerings.
- Manage all kitchen operations: prep, cooking, plating, and presentation during high-volume service.
- Hire, train, and coach kitchen staff to maintain speed, consistency, and food quality standards.
- Oversee food inventory, ordering, portion control, and waste reduction while meeting hygiene protocols.
- Conduct tastings, menu briefings, and quality checks to perfect every dish before it reaches guests.
Qualifications
- 4+ years professional chef experience (brewery/gastropub preferred).
- Proven leadership in high-pressure kitchens with strong menu development skills.
- Deep knowledge of food safety, Toronto regulations, and high-volume production.
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
