About the Position:
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the furniture industry.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Plan, staff, train, and oversee all work unit activities according to the production schedule. Coordinate daily production activities within the facility.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure team performance meets zero-defect standards. Identify and resolve quality issues, collaborate with customer service to address root causes, and design and implement solutions.
- Reliability: Guarantee timely delivery of quality products to customers.
- Scheduling: Prepare daily production schedules and coordinate the manufacturing team.
- Safety: Maintain a safe working environment for all employees and visitors. Keep health and safety practices current.
- Leadership/Motivation: Inspire and engage employees to improve processes through creativity, problem-solving, and learning. Encourage employees to share improvement ideas and take risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing policies and procedures. Reduce costs and waste, and implement 5S initiatives throughout the facility.
- Inventory Management: Balance inventory needs with cost minimization. Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
- SOPs: Create, implement, and manage standard operating procedures for various positions within the facility. Ensure compliance and update SOPs as needed.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- A technical or engineering degree is an asset.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and procedures.
- Understanding of upholstery and sofa manufacturing is a strong asset.
