IT Project Manager

Duration: 18+ months contract with possibility of extension

Job Description:

• Under the direction of the Director, Core Technology Services;
• Provide project management expertise for all project activities by working with internal and external stakeholders, project team members and groups across the Bank using proven project management best practices and methodologies
• Oversee the project during the planning, solution selection, configuration, implementation and transition to operations support by collaborating with managers to ensure effective resource utilization and delivering a fully operational solution within agreed timelines, and performance parameters
• Develop project plans and prioritize work to achieve project objectives, working with project resources and ensuring the collaboration with other teams, as required
• Oversee project risks, issues, and interdependencies while delivering defined scope and work plans within defined quality and timeframes
• Prepare and present proposals, plans, charts, status reports and risk logs to assist in analyzing, displaying and socializing progress, challenges, issues and problems by using a variety of project management tools
• Develop and maintain effective and collaborative business relationships with stakeholders to effectively oversee projects by ensuring understanding of client needs and support effective resolution of client inquiries and concerns
• Effectively handle and communicate unplanned project activities, such as re-planning and recalibration
• Work independently with limited support / involvement from senior management
• Provide regular project status updates on progress and value delivery to senior management and/or the sponsor/client
• Ensure all project deliverables are completed including all related documentation and processes
• Other activities and deliverable, as required.

Required Skills:

• University Degree or College Diploma in computer science, engineering or business administration.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of recent demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Management Specialist in overseeing large projects (more than 40 project resources, over multiple years) in a complex environment.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience using Agile or hybrid delivery approaches (Agile / Waterfall) to deliver strategic IT projects.
• Strong demonstrated business acumen, including the ability to identify and communicate value and translate business needs into project objectives/application solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise documents for senior leadership as well as for a technical audience.
• Demonstrated experience in facilitation and problem resolution.

Desired:

• SCRUM Master Certification
• PMP Certification
• Demonstratable knowledge of the Bank’s functions and core business processes
• Experience with implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Azure Cloud solutions
• Demonstrated experience in establishing effective and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
• French will be considered an asset

Education:

• University Degree or College Diploma in computer science, engineering or business administration.
