We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics center in Columbus, Ohio. As a vital member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your role is crucial in ensuring the efficient flow of goods within our facility, from receiving to shipping. A strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance is essential. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and packed items to and from designated locations.
- Stack and stage items appropriately, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and warehouse organization as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols, including maintaining safe operating speeds and clearances.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of load handling and stacking techniques.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
