About

Quobly aims to have a strong impact on society by providing cost-competitive universal quantum processors to solve currently intractable problems.

Founded in 2022, Quobly is a fast-growing start-up located in Grenoble’s vibrant and multidisciplinary ecosystem. The company relies on the CNRS Neel Institute and CEA-Leti and benefits from the dynamic of strong links between research and industry.

We are looking for a Python software developer with a background in quantum physics or quantum computing to participate in the development of Quobly’s quantum software stack.

What awaits you every day at Quobly:Mission
  • You will contribute to the development of Quobly’s software framework and tools used to automate acquisition and processing of silicon quantum devices characterization data at wafer level (probers) or at unitary level in cryostats.
  • You will interact with the characterization and quantum measurement team members to understand their measurement, automation, and data analysis needs.
  • You will develop instrument drivers, measurement automation, statistical data analysis, and plotting routines addressing characterization and measurement team needs.
  • For all those subjects, you will interact with multidisciplinary teams to understand the needs (what), implement (how), and validate.
  • Collaborate with and learn from talented people from many countries and backgrounds (software, hardware design, quantum physics, characterization, measurement, quantum information theory) in a culture of transparency and autonomy.
  • Work hand in hand with members of our technical teams.
  • Contribute to the success of the industrial collaborations with CEA, CNRS, and STMicroelectronics.
You are special because:
  • You have knowledge of on-wafer electrical characterization techniques (e.g., IV/CV measurements).
  • You are a skilled Python developer and have hands-on experience with data analysis (SciPy, Pandas, NumPy, OpenCV), visualization (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn), and automation libraries (e.g., PyVISA).
  • You have hands-on experience in lab instruments controlling through SCPI, GPIB, and/or VISA.
  • You are familiar with industry equipment for semiconductor characterization (wafer level prober, SMU, waveform generators, etc.).
  • You are used to developing/maintaining/improving/documenting/supporting well-structured and reusable code.
  • You master collaborative software development practices and tools: version tracking (Git), continuous integration (GitLab), unit testing (Pytest), linting, bug tracking.
  • You are customer-oriented (whether they are internal or external), are able to discuss/understand/document their needs and support them.
  • Any experience in data science and/or machine learning will be appreciated as well.

If you have knowledge of electrical characterization techniques and are a skilled Python developer but miss some other skills, just think of applying anyway. We are convinced that your experience together with willingness and sense of adventure can make the difference.

Working at Quobly is also:
  • A unique workplace in Grenoble, combining a dynamic industrial environment, technological innovation, and a unique natural and cultural living environment.
  • The opportunity to continue to train and develop skills by rubbing shoulders with the best researchers in the field.
  • A collaborative work environment, a culture that has trust as its pillar and where your work will be recognized, and much more!
  • Contribute to the influence of Quobly through the sharing of our progress in international conferences.
  • The possibility of having a pro-life balance with a standard day package of 213 days worked/year.
  • The possibility of teleworking 4 days a week depending on the position.
  • Offices near the Grenoble train station.
  • Assistance with soft travel or public transportation.

For us, quality work is based on professionalism, trust, surpassing oneself, and collaboration in an environment where fun and celebration are as essential as they are natural.

“Don't worry if you don't check every box—if you're excited about the role, we encourage you to apply!”
