About
In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should demonstrate strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain compliance with all food safety standards. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
* Oversee and assist with food preparation, cooking processes, and serving meals.
* Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and accommodate therapeutic or modified diets as directed.
* Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments.
* Assist with ordering food and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
* Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain proper food labeling, dating, and rotation (FIFO standards).
* Ensure safe food temperatures are monitored and documented as required.
* Maintain sanitation logs and cleaning schedules in accordance with state and local regulations.
* Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and inspection-ready at all times.
* Communicate effectively with caregivers and leadership regarding resident dietary concerns.
Requirements
* In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
* Ability to comply with local, state, and federal food service guidelines.
* Understanding of special diets (diabetic, low-sodium, pureed, mechanical soft, etc.).
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
* Current Food Handlerโs Permit (or ability to obtain upon hire).
* Ability to pass background check in compliance with regulations for working with vulnerable adults.
* Reliable attendance and punctuality.
* Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
* Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities.
* Outstanding communication and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
