Job Summary
Design 2 Build (D2B) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Construction Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. This role will support and oversee high-end residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction methods, enjoys working collaboratively with architects, designers, subcontractors, and clients, and is motivated to grow within a quality-driven company.
Responsibilities
- Manage and/or support all phases of construction projects from planning through closeout
- Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Assist with or lead project scheduling, sequencing, and milestone tracking
- Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, and inspections
- Secure and track permits and approvals
- Review construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals
- Ensure jobsite safety and compliance with all building and safety regulations
- Supervise field staff and subcontractors as required by role level
- Maintain organized project documentation and provide regular progress reports
Qualifications
- 1–5+ years of construction project management experience (role level adjusted based on experience)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems in NYC
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and construction/project management software
- Familiarity with NYC permitting, DOB processes, and residential construction standards preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to break complex projects into manageable steps and prioritize effectively
