Commercial Construction Project Manager

Job Description

Jens Construction is a commercial general contractor performing work in southeastern Wisconsin since 1967. We are currently serving the following markets: Healthcare, Education, Industrial & Manufacturing, Commercial, Food Processing, and Religious.

We are looking to expand our office staff and seek an experienced commercial construction project manager who will be responsible for overseeing several types of construction projects. The individual will lead the project from initiation to close, hiring subcontractors, working with vendors and ordering equipment and materials. This person should be knowledgeable about regulations, permits and project management methodology. They should also work well with others, be highly organized and detail-oriented, meet deadlines and strive to stay within budget.

Duties

• Define the project scope
• Create a construction estimate based on a material takeoff
• Create and manage a construction project budget
• Negotiate with subcontractors to obtain profitable construction contracts
• Develop a construction schedule, with project deliverables and milestones
• Manage resources such as construction materials, construction workers and equipment
• Create status reports for project stakeholders
• Oversee the performance of the project foreman and other members of the construction team
• Obtain building permits
• Maintain health and safety standards
