Role Summary
We’re hiring a Roofing Project Manager based out of our Charleston office to oversee residential (and some commercial) roofing projects in the field. This role is responsible for being on-site to manage subcontractor crews, ensure quality and safety, communicate with homeowners, and keep projects moving on schedule. You’ll be the day-to-day point person making sure the job is done right and the customer experience is solid from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Be on-site during active projects to oversee subcontractor crews
Confirm materials are correct and on-site before work begins (shingles, underlayment, accessories, etc.)
Coordinate start times, job flow, and crew needs to keep production moving
Communicate with homeowners throughout the day:
Arrival/start updates
What to expect during the install
Address concerns/questions professionally
End-of-day walkthrough and closeout communication
Perform quality control checks during and after installation:
Proper tear-off and underlayment installation
Flashing details (chimney, wall, pipe boots, valleys)
Ventilation installation (as applicable)
Shingle installation quality and manufacturer requirements
Cleanup (yard, landscaping protection, magnet sweep, debris removal)
Document job progress with photos/notes and report issues to the office
Handle on-site problem solving (decking issues, material shortages, weather delays, change orders)
Verify additional work needs and communicate pricing/approvals through the office process
Ensure safety compliance (harnessing, ladder safety, jobsite safety)
Confirm job completion and readiness for final invoice/closeout
Coordinate punch-list items and warranty/callback follow-ups as needed
Required Qualifications
2+ years roofing experience (installation or project oversight)
Strong knowledge of residential roofing systems and common problem areas
Proven ability to manage crews/subcontractors and keep jobs on schedule
Strong customer communication skills; calm under pressure
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily to job sites
Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet for photos, notes, and communication
Ability to climb ladders, walk roofs, and work outdoors in varying conditions
Preferred Qualifications
Prior roofing project management experience
Familiarity with Owens Corning installation requirements (or similar manufacturers)
Experience with documentation tools like CompanyCam (or similar)
Basic estimating/change order experience
