Controller, Contract

Our client is seeking a Controller for a 3-month contract with strong potential for permanent placement.

3-4 days on-site in Mississauga.

1. Prepare timely and accurate financial reports and statements on a monthly/quarterly basis in accordance with GAAP.
2. Review monthly variance reports and ensure compliance with all financial policies and procedures.
3. Develop and implement policies to ensure legislative compliance.
4. Maintain all financial accounting systems and the general ledger.
5. Ensure timely remittance of all statutory requirements.
6. Manage proper accounting of capital assets, including recording, amortization, and disposal.
7. Present quarterly capital reports to the Board's Finance & Audit Committee.
8. Submit all financial and statutory reports to meet government funding, legislative, and internal requirements.
9. Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and the Board's Finance & Audit Committee.
10. Manage the annual operating budget, capital planning, and cash flow.
11. Evaluate technology needs and monitor risk management policies and procedures.

1. 5 to 10 years of experience as a Controller or equivalent, preferably in a not-for-profit or healthcare organization.
2. Experience in the Community Services for Seniors sector.
3. Strong accounting skills with over 8 years of experience in GAAP.
4. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance staff.
5. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
