Laser Operator – 1st Shift

*Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday–Friday)*
*Duration: 6 months Contract role *
*Experience Level: Entry-Level (Mechanical aptitude required)*
*Preferred: Flat pattern laser experience*
*Position Summary*
The Laser Operator applies basic laser operating processes to fabricate sheet-metal aircraft components according to written instructions, schedules, and engineering drawings. The role includes machine setup, operation, and inspection of completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Perform basic production tasks following standard operating procedures.
* Set up and operate *Fiber and/or YAG CNC lasers* on production hardware.
* Interpret and follow written instructions, engineering drawings, sketches, and schedules.
* Identify machine alignment issues under direct supervision.
* Use precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances and part quality.
* Inspect completed parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Perform work in accordance with company standards and safety procedures.
* Learn to troubleshoot minor programming errors with limited oversight.
*Required Skills & Qualifications*
* Ability to read and understand manufacturing planning documents, blueprints, and sketches.
* Basic math skills relevant to manufacturing functions.
* Familiarity with machine tools and precision measuring instruments.
* Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and documentation.
*Preferred (Not Required)*
* Experience with flat pattern laser cutting.
* Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
* Additional familiarity with machine tools and precision instruments.
*Working Conditions*
* Use of protective clothing, safety glasses, and other PPE.
* Exposure to laser equipment and manufacturing environment.
*Physical Requirements*
* Frequent standing, bending, and full-body movement.
* Lifting up to 50 pounds.
* Climbing, balancing, and material handling.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

* Do you have experience operating CNC laser machines (Fiber and/or YAG)/ CNC Operations?
* How many years of experience do you have working in a manufacturing or sheet-metal fabrication environment?
* Are you able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing planning documents?
* Do you have experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)?
* Are you comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs?
* Do you have knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)?
* Are you available to work 1st Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday) in Kent, WA?
