*Job Summary:*
The Project Manager 2 (IT) supports client’s IT PMO by managing medium to large technology projects through the full project lifecycle. This role partners with Portfolio Managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to develop integrated project schedules, manage scope, budget, risks, and resources, and ensure successful delivery aligned with PMI-based methodologies and System Life Cycle (SLC) principles.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Lead and coordinate multiple IT projects from initiation to closeout.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules (MS Project), budgets, and documentation.
Monitor scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and funding; escalate concerns as needed.
Facilitate Agile practices including backlog management, sprint planning, and story development.
Serve as liaison between business and technical teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Maintain compliance with federal governance, security, and documentation standards.
Prepare status reports, lessons learned, and project deliverables for federal review and approval.
*Required Qualifications:*
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field with 5+ years of experience (or 9+ years without degree).
5+ years managing technology projects using industry-standard PM tools and methodologies.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects (typically under $500K lifecycle cost).
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, Team Foundation Server, and Agile practices.
Working knowledge of software testing and SLC principles.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
PMP certification.
Experience with Agile/Scrum, Lean, or Six Sigma.
Government or utility industry experience.
*Additional Requirements:*
Ability to pass SF-85 background investigation.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Up to 5% travel; minimal overtime anticipated.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
