About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract. You will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and documentation of high-voltage Power Transmission Equipment used to supply undersea communication cable systems. This role focuses on high-voltage DC-DC conversion, thermal/mechanical integration, and ensuring designs meet the highest reliability and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-end hardware design, from concept through to production release. Design and development of DC-DC converters (50-400VDC → 3-5kV DC, up to 5kW) and high-voltage circuits. Perform thermal management and mechanical integration for high-power electronics. Conduct HV testing, insulation resistance, partial discharge validation, and ensure compliance with IEC (phone number removed). Define test plans, schematics, and manufacturing documentation. Apply FMEA, risk analysis, EMC/EMI design, and reliability engineering practices.
Required Experience & Skills:
Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 8+ years relevant experience. Proven experience designing and releasing high-power DC-DC converters and HV systems. Expertise in SMPS design, closed-loop control, thermal/mechanical integration, and high-voltage design standards. Hands-on experience with simulation tools (LTspice, PLECS) and PCB design tools (Altium, Zuken CR5000). Familiarity with ISO9001, TL9000, and regulated hardware development processes. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Why Join Us: This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical undersea communication technology in a collaborative and innovative environment. You will take ownership of complex high-voltage hardware projects and contribute to the next generation of Power Feeding Equipment.
