About
We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for our busy logistics hub in Sacramento, California. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting customer deadlines. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all packages are correctly labeled and dispatched. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to safety are essential. We provide all necessary training and require adherence to strict PPE guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify that all outgoing shipments match order details.
- Coordinate with common carriers and freight forwarders for shipment pickups.
- Ensure packages are properly packaged, labeled, and secured for transit.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update shipment status in the system.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet wrappers and tape machines.
- Adhere to all logistics and safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Conduct final quality checks on outgoing orders before dispatch.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed during non-peak shipping times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 30 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
