About
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Forklift Operator at our Washington, D.C. location. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials within our warehouse. Your role is vital to ensuring smooth logistics operations, supporting receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processes. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to transport materials.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts to ensure operational safety.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with precision.
- Move and stack inventory accurately within designated warehouse areas.
- Assist with receiving incoming goods and putting them away in their correct locations.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, reporting any hazards promptly.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with inventory control measures.
- Support overall warehouse logistics as needed, including manual lifting when necessary.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable experience operating forklifts is required, along with a valid forklift certification. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the ability to perform tasks involving frequent lifting (up to 60 lbs). Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness are essential. A commitment to safety, including the correct and consistent use of PPE, is mandatory. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and general logistics is a plus.
