About
Our Kansas City, Missouri warehouse is looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and managing materials and products within the warehouse. This includes operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring proper inventory placement. A strong commitment to Safety is paramount, and you will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety regulations. The role involves considerable physical exertion, including frequent and significant Lifting, so candidates should be in good physical condition. If you have experience operating warehouse machinery and a solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping platforms.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to prevent damage.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain equipment and report any mechanical issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of PPE.
- Adhere to warehouse operating procedures and logistics workflows.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or forklift operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy Lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
