Job#: bh18717 Description: About the Role This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact programs through hands-on design, development, integration, and fielding of embedded systems supporting novel space applications. You’ll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while also independently solving complex technical challenges. Occasional travel may be required to support field exercises, sponsor briefings, and related technical events. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and field embedded systems for advanced space applications Decompose processing chains into modular components for development Develop synthesizable VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog Implement FPGA designs in hardware, including constraint file creation Test and debug firmware in simulation and hardware environments Integrate digital interfaces (SPI, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, etc.) Perform circuit card assembly-level debugging and verification Support laboratory and hardware-in-the-loop testing activities Contribute to DSP analysis and/or implementation efforts Required Qualifications Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field with 2+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience Technical Experience: FPGA-based digital circuits and/or embedded systems Firmware testing and hardware debugging Digital interface implementation (SPI, PCIe, GigE) Laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers) DSP analysis and/or implementation Implementing FPGA designs in hardware Demonstrated Ability To: Solve complex technical challenges Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders Work safely and responsibly in lab environments Quickly learn and apply advanced technical knowledge Active Top Secret clearance highly desired (Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD clearance.) Desired Skills Computer architecture expertise (bare-metal vs. RTOS trade studies) Linux development environment Scripting/automation (Python, Bash, TCL, Perl) MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or similar scientific programming languages Revision control best practices Hardware design experience (schematic capture, layout, routing, bring-up) Compensation Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400 – $140,000 Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 – $182,200 Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, scope of responsibilities, and internal equity considerations. Salary reflects base compensation only.
