About

At Saint-Gobain Glass we are looking for a Process Technologist to work as a part of the Coater Technical Team to support our department with manufacturing coated products, line trials, and the ongoing delivery of product improvement, including quality, daily follow up, process optimisation and process and product improvements. This Process Technologist role will be a part of the Technical Team. You'll play a key role in assisting product development within our manufacturing operation. Our central R&D teams support us with modelling of required products driven by marketing demand and you role will be to collaborate (with engineering, marketing and mostly production teams) and support line trials and developments along improving line efficiency, product quality and playing a major part in production compliance. Saint-Gobain Glass is one of 30 Saint-Gobain brands. Our site in Eggborough is part of a business with a 350-year heritage in flat glass manufacturing. We've invested heavily into our Eggborough facility in recent years including £20m in a new furnace, securing the site for the next 20 years. We have invested significantly in our people and health initiatives which included a site subsidised canteen, free on-site gym and a host of wellbeing initiatives. This is a full-time position with a normal working pattern of days, Monday to Friday. There is an occasional requirement to work unsociable hours to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation. What we're looking for: Science related degree, such as Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or similar. A curious mindset, with a can-do attitude Experience in glass manufacturing would be an advantage but not essential Experience and ability in statistical data analysis and interpretation. The use of data software such as Microsoft Excel would be great as well as knowledge of AI tools Working knowledge and experience in downstream product development, introduction, and optimisation through problem-solving and manufacturing trials.What you will be doing: Investigating of customer complaints and product quality issues, investigating coating processes, supporting manufacturing teams Ensuring production processes are adhered to through standards, communication, and where required process operator training Supporting Process/ New Product Development - work to improve current practices with involvement in line and customer-based trials Leading projects linked to quality and process improvements by following WCM methodologies and AI Saint-Gobain Developed tools Act as a subject matter expert, present to stakeholders and other teams bringing the content to life for others in a way that can be understood Act as a H&S ambassador, modelling excellent H&S standards and challenging unsafe behavior Are Saint-Gobain Glass and Saint-Gobain inclusive employers?
