We are looking for a meticulous and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are dispatched accurately and on time to our valued customers. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, labeling packages, and maintaining shipping records. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of logistics processes are essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL freight) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping documentation to ensure accuracy before dispatch.
- Package products securely for shipment, selecting appropriate boxes and packing materials to prevent damage.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS) to process shipments and update tracking information.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) and external parties regarding shipping status and inquiries.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure personal safety.
- Assist with loading outbound shipments onto trucks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk, Logistics Coordinator, or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier portals.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation and logistics procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order verification.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols.
