Seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our major logistics hub in Chicago, Illinois. This position is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our vast inventory. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing solutions to ensure optimal inventory management. Your role will directly impact the efficiency of our supply chain operations. We are committed to a high standard of Safety and expect all employees to adhere to all protocols, including the proper use of PPE. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a background in warehouse management.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, ensuring sufficient supply.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize loss and waste.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements.
- Ensure accurate receiving and put-away of incoming goods.
- Manage the organization and placement of inventory within the warehouse.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required for specific tasks and areas.
- Assist with training new staff on inventory procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role is required. Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform moderate Lifting and work in a warehouse environment. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and Safety. Must be comfortable wearing and using required PPE.
