Low-Rise Residential Construction (Single Detached & Townhouses)

Location: Cobourg, ON


About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Site Superintendent to support the delivery of low-rise residential projects, including single detached homes and townhouses , in the Cobourg, ON area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within a reputable residential builder while gaining hands-on site and homeowner-facing experience.

You will work closely with the Site Superintendent to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards, while supporting inspections, deficiencies, and homeowner care.


Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Site Superintendent with day-to-day site operations
  • Scheduling and coordinating trades , deliveries, and inspections
  • Performing quality control (QC) checks throughout construction
  • Managing and overseeing handyman crews for:
  • Pre-PDI preparation
  • Deficiency repairs
  • Tarion-related work
  • Coordinating occupancy inspections and ensuring readiness for approvals
  • Managing key turnover and possession-related tasks
  • Conducting Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) with homeowners
  • Supporting Tarion customer service , including deficiency tracking and follow-ups
  • Maintaining site cleanliness, safety, and organization
  • Assisting with documentation, checklists, and reporting
  • Acting as a liaison between trades, site supervision, and homeowners
  • Other duties as required to support successful project delivery


Qualifications

  • Experience in low-rise residential construction (single detached and/or townhouses preferred)
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Superintendent, Site Coordinator, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and finishing standards
  • Familiarity with Tarion guidelines , PDI, and occupancy processes (asset)
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
  • Proficient with basic construction documentation and digital tools
