About
*Duties*
* Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify faults or potential issues. * Prepare vehicles for onward sale or rental * Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, brakes, transmissions, steering systems, and other vehicle components. * Replace worn or damaged parts with genuine or approved components. * Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and time taken. * Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards and manufacturer specifications. * Assist in the planning of preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime. * Use specialised tools and diagnostic equipment effectively to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems. * Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role specialising in heavy goods vehicles. * Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent. * Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics. * Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately. * Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. * Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. * Valid UK driving licence; additional certifications such as CPC or ADR are advantageous. * Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Pay: £42,000.00-£47,000.00 per year
