Your Role and Responsibilities

As a SEND Teacher, you will teach small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering well-structured lessons that align with the school's curriculum.
  • Assessing and reporting on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of your pupils.
  • Adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse strengths and needs of students.
  • Setting high standards that inspire and motivate pupils.
  • Demonstrating secure subject knowledge and participating in preparations for external tests.
  • Teaching across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapting learning for students with SEND.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
  • Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to their needs.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Good ICT skills to support learning.
