About
We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the outbound flow of goods, ensuring all shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched. You'll be the central point of contact for coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping labels, and verifying shipment details. This position demands excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to prevent errors in transit. Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes is beneficial. Your contribution is key to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our distribution operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation, including Bills of Lading.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Inspect packages for damage before they are shipped.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all workplace Safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and Safety procedures.
- Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
