Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is fundamental to ensuring the accurate and efficient intake of all incoming goods into our warehouse. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and properly documenting all received items. This is a critical position within our supply chain operations, requiring accuracy and a systematic approach.
Responsibilities:
  • Unload incoming freight from trucks and trailers.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices, checking for discrepancies in quantity and item numbers.
  • Inspect goods for any damages or defects and report findings.
  • Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Tag and label received products for proper storage.
  • Stage incoming goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification/training may be required).
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency. Previous experience in a receiving or inventory role within a warehouse or logistics environment is highly preferred. Must be able to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. A commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE is essential. Good communication skills are necessary for interacting with various stakeholders. Familiarity with logistics workflows is beneficial.
