About
We are looking for a skilled Material Handler in Portland, Oregon, to join our logistics team. This position is vital for managing the flow of materials within our warehouse, ensuring efficient operations from receiving to shipping. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, organizing inventory, and supporting various warehouse functions. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, physically capable, and has experience with warehouse equipment. Your role will be key to maintaining productivity and ensuring the integrity of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of all materials.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Receive, identify, and stock incoming materials according to established procedures.
- Organize and maintain inventory in a clean and accessible manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and Safety.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with picking and packing orders as needed, which may involve significant Lifting.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain accuracy within the logistics system.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or maintenance needs to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is essential.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of Safety and adhering to all PPE requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
