We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. Your responsibilities will include receiving, inspecting, organizing, and distributing materials and products. This role is fundamental to our supply chain operations and requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to workplace safety. You will be working with various types of materials, ensuring they are stored correctly and made available for fulfillment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and products for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record inventory levels and update the inventory management system.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment according to established procedures.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material status and operational needs.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including significant Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of basic Logistics operations.
