About

*About Synergy*
For 21 years, Synergy Information Solutions has built secure, operationally practical technology for casino environments. Its Pillars Platform and Pillars Local AI products bring data normalization, analytics, monitoring, and AI-enabled workflows into regulated, often on-premise environments where speed, reliability, and real-world deployment constraints matter. For Synergy, supporting casinos also means making a measurable impact on addictive gambling through our technology.
*Role Summary*
We are hiring a senior engineer who can take product ideas from concept to production quickly. This person will own major technical decisions, write substantial production code, and accelerate feature delivery across the Pillars Platform and related AI capabilities. The right candidate has strong product instincts, strong engineering judgment, and the ability to move from architecture to implementation. Although this role will be dynamic and engaging, Synergy promotes quality of life for all our team. We hire for longevity, not for turn and burn.
*What This Role Owns*
· Shipping high-value product features quickly across the Pillars Platform and Pillars Local AI ecosystem
· Architecture and implementation decisions across front-end, API, database, deployment, and AI-adjacent workflows
· Hands-on development in the parts of the stack that matter most to product velocity
· Technical direction for production quality, maintainability, and release reliability
· Partnering with the CEO on product priorities, tradeoffs, and what reaches market first
· Practical collaboration with contractors or specialists when leverage is needed
*Core Responsibilities*
· Build and ship meaningful customer-facing features, not just architecture documents or technical plans
· Own large technical problems end-to-end: requirements shaping, design, implementation, testing strategy, deployment, and post-release stabilization
· Move quickly across the stack as needed, especially where front-end, APIs, data, and AI features intersect
· Make product choices that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
· Identify bottlenecks that slow feature delivery and remove them with pragmatic tooling, automation, and simplification
· Review critical code and technical designs to keep the bar high without creating unnecessary drag
· Strengthen release quality for both internet-connected and air-gapped deployments
· Help convert prototypes, ideas, and customer requests into production-ready features with clear scope and tradeoffs
· Use contractors, specialists, or targeted external support effectively when it speeds delivery or fills expertise gaps
· Create enough documentation and decision records so the product does not depend on one person's memory
*Required Qualifications*
· 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with evidence of principal, staff, lead, or equivalent senior-level impact
· Track record of shipping production features quickly in environments where product speed matters
· Strong full-stack engineering judgment, with the ability to contribute directly in both user-facing and backend-heavy areas
· Deep experience in at least one modern front-end framework and one backend language used in production systems
· Strong experience with relational databases, vector databases, API design, and production debugging
· Experience owning architecture decisions without disappearing into process or abstraction
· Comfort in security-sensitive, uptime-sensitive, or operationally complex environments
· Strong written and verbal communication, especially the ability to explain tradeoffs clearly and keep decisions moving
*Preferred Background*
· Angular and TypeScript in production applications
· Go in production APIs or services
· PostgreSQL schema design and performance tuning
· Vector database schema design and RAG workflow building
· Python used in AI, LLM, data, or workflow tooling
· Docker, Docker Compose, and Linux-based deployments
· On-premise, hybrid, or air-gapped deployment environments
· Enterprise authentication patterns such as LDAP or Active Directory integration
· Operational domains where downtime, compliance, or environment-specific deployment constraints are real
· Mobile development and distribution: iOS/Android
*What Success Looks Like*
_*First 90 Days*_
· Absorb the current architecture, deployment patterns, and product roadmap quickly enough to contribute without a long ramp
· Ship at least one visible feature, product improvement, or material technical acceleration within the first quarter
· Establish credibility through execution speed and good technical judgment
· Identify the 3-5 biggest blockers to product velocity and put a practical plan in motion to remove them
_*First 12 Months*_
· Feature throughput is meaningfully higher and Synergy is bringing more differentiated capabilities to market
· The platform is stronger in the areas that matter most for competitive advantage: AI workflows, analytics, performance, reliability, and deployability
· Important architecture choices are clearer, cleaner, and easier for others to work within
· Synergy can lean on contractors and internal developers more effectively because technical direction is sharper and execution is less fragile
· The product organization is positioned to add management later without slowing the pace of shipping
*This Role Is a Strong Fit If You...*
· Like building and shipping
· Can move fast without leaving a mess behind
· Enjoy taking product concepts and turning them into real features
· Have strong instincts for where senior engineering attention creates the most business value
· Can operate well with a founder/CEO who wants a true technical partner on product delivery
*This Role Is Probably Not a Fit If You...*
· Primarily want to manage managers or build a large org immediately
· Prefer highly specialized, narrow-scope ownership rather than broad product responsibility
· Need heavy process, large support teams, or long planning cycles before shipping
· Are uncomfortable making tradeoffs in a fast-moving product environment
*Working Model*
The company expects this hire to work closely with the CEO and the existing development team, while also leveraging contract support when appropriate. The goal is to add senior execution power now, not to force one person to solve every organizational need.
