About

We will work together as a HT-MT Substation Foreman. As a Foreman, you will ensure the maintenance of source substations, technical galleries, and the 130 kV cable network that contribute to the electricity distribution activity in the canton. The Maintenance unit, with its 50 staff, ensures the proper functioning of the network composed of HT-MT source substations, MT-BT substations, the overhead network, as well as energy technical galleries for the benefit of a sustainable Geneva.Within the Maintenance unit, you will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams that maintain the source substations and technical galleries. Your duties will include:- Directing, coordinating the supervision and proper execution of the work assigned in the HT substations and technical galleries;- Ensuring responsibility for extension, renewal, revision, periodic maintenance, and troubleshooting works related to HT substations and technical galleries;- Managing personnel to carry out various missions;- Participating in the safety procedures for HT-MT-BT and applying safety rules;- Ensuring the safety of people and property at all times and under all circumstances and applying and enforcing the directives set in the ordinances and federal prescriptions for high-voltage current;- Providing on-call service for SIG and third parties (Swissgrid).Your personality and skills:The position of HT-MT substation foreman requires an experienced, reliable technical profile capable of evolving in a critical environment with strong safety and availability constraints. The candidate must have a solid foundation in electricity and electrotechnics, as well as an excellent knowledge of HT-MT source substations and technical galleries. They should have experience in these infrastructures and master the technical constraints, fully understanding and rigorously applying all electrical rules and safety standards, particularly those related to maneuvers and interventions in sensitive environments. The safety of people and property is a priority for this role, requiring strong resilience to stress and pressure, maintaining a clear, structured, and reliable vision during incidents, urgent work, or degraded situations. The foreman must be able to lead and supervise a team of 3 to 5 by ensuring activity management, task distribution, and adherence to deadlines. Demonstrating a genuine spirit of precision and rigor in execution and oversight is essential. Proficiency with tools is indispensable for monitoring interventions, reporting, and coordination. Given the numerous interactions involved, the candidate should be comfortable on the phone and possess strong writing skills to create clear, structured messages and reports.We are looking for an organized, autonomous profile capable of taking a central role among field teams and other stakeholders.Academic background:CFC electrician, network electrician, mechanic-electrician, complemented by a certificate in project management or deemed equivalent. You will be required to be on-call, necessitating travel within the canton of Geneva.
