About

*Position Title:* Senior Architect / Senior Project Manager
*Location:* Tucson, AZ
*Job Type:* Full-Time
*Experience Level:* Senior-Level
*Start Date:* March-April 2026
*Compensation:* $75,000–$87,000 (commensurate with experience)
*About MIKADO*
MIKADO is a forward-thinking architecture, construction, and development firm driven by innovation, craftsmanship, and purposeful design. Our work blends performance with beauty. We are design-led, detail-obsessed, and execution-focused — building projects that add lasting value to the communities we serve.
We believe architecture should be intentional. Refined. Built with clarity.
*Position Overview*
We are seeking a Senior Architect / Senior Project Manager to take a leadership role within our integrated design-build practice. This is not a production-only position. This is a strategic, design-forward leadership role for someone ready to guide projects from concept through construction with authority and precision.
You will oversee major residential, mixed-use, and development projects; mentor team members; coordinate consultants; and ensure design integrity through execution. Licensure is not required; however, substantial and directly relevant professional experience is essential.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to help shape the direction of a growing, vertically integrated firm.
*What We’re Looking For*
* A design-driven leader with strong technical depth and decisive project management skills.
* Someone capable of owning projects end-to-end — creatively, technically, and operationally.
* A professional who can confidently represent MIKADO with clients, consultants, and contractors.
* A mentor who elevates team performance through clarity, structure, and high standards.
* An individual who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, design-build environment.
*Qualifications*
* 10+ years of professional experience in architecture.
* Licensure Preferred (strong unlicensed candidates with significant experience will be considered).
* Advanced proficiency in Revit (model management, documentation, coordination).
* Strong experience leading projects through schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
* Proven ability to manage consultants, budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
* Experience in design-build or integrated project delivery strongly preferred.
* Clear, confident communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
*What You’ll Do*
* Lead projects from concept through completion, maintaining design excellence throughout.
* Oversee documentation quality and technical rigor.
* Direct coordination with structural, MEP, and specialty consultants.
* Manage permitting processes and agency approvals.
* Collaborate closely with construction teams to ensure seamless execution.
* Mentor emerging designers and help shape internal standards and workflows.
* Contribute strategically to firm growth, systems development, and operational refinement.
*Why Join MIKADO?*
* True integration of architecture, construction, and development under one roof.
* Leadership opportunity within a growing, design-forward firm.
* Creative authority with real responsibility.
* Direct impact on built work — not just drawings.
* A culture that values initiative, refinement, and long-term thinking.
*How to Apply*
Send your resume, portfolio (PDF or web link), and a brief cover letter outlining your leadership experience and interest in MIKADO to *stefan@mikado-arc.com*.
Please include:
