Position Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the complete mechanical design of custom packaging and robotic palletizing systems. This role supports projects from initial concept through fabrication, assembly, and testing. Using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, the engineer produces system layouts, detailed drawings, and assembly documentation required for manufacturing and installation. The Mechanical Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams-including electrical engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and account management-to deliver high-quality equipment that meets or exceeds customer requirements. This position is part of a fast-paced engineering team focused on continuous improvement and innovative system design. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Engineering • Design mechanical systems and components for packaging and robotic palletizing equipment. • Develop system layout drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed fabrication drawings. • Prepare complete drawing packages and project documentation for fabrication, assembly, and installation. • Generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and coordinate with the Purchasing Department. • Experience supporting equipment through fabrication, assembly, and factory acceptance testing (FAT). • Ability to work hands-on with machinery during build, debug, and testing phases. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Collaborate with Account Managers and customers to define and refine system requirements. • Support the Electrical Engineering team during equipment integration and testing. • Work directly with production personnel to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing or assembly issues. • Partner with internal teams at all organizational levels to improve equipment designs and manufacturing processes. Project & Documentation Support • Maintain and update system and equipment drawings throughout the project lifecycle. • Participate in equipment testing and validation at company facilities. • Provide technical support for customer installations and field issues as needed. Qualifications and Requirements Education & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
