*About the Opportunity*
A well-established, privately held organization in the Greater Phoenix area is seeking a skilled *Systems Administrator* to support and enhance its IT infrastructure across multiple facilities.
This confidential search is for a key technical professional who will play a critical role in maintaining system stability, strengthening security, and supporting operational growth initiatives.
This is a highly visible position working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
*Position Overview*
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing the company's core IT infrastructure, ensuring uptime, performance, and compliance across multiple business units.
This role requires strong technical execution, proactive problem solving, and the ability to build scalable systems that support growth.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Administer Windows Server Environment (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP) * Manage Microsoft 365 / Azure AD / Exchange Environments * Maintain virtualization infrastructure (VMware and/or Hyper-V) * Oversee firewall, switching, and network security configurations * Implement and monitor cybersecurity best practices (endpoint security, MFA, backups, disaster recovery) * Manage backup systems and business continuity planning * Oversee hardware lifecycle management across multiple locations * Monitor system performance and uptime * Support ERP, CRM, and line-of-business systems * Coordinate with third-party vendors and MSP partners when needed * Develop documentation and standardized IT processes * Assist with long-term IT strategy and infrastructure planning
*Required Qualifications*
* 5+ years of hands-on Systems Administration experience * Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) * Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure * Network fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switches) * Virtualization experience (VMware or Hyper-V) * Backup and disaster recovery planning experience * Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities across departments
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience supporting multi-location operations * Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.) * Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments * Familiarity with compliance frameworks
