About

Assistant Kitchen Manager (Operations-Focused)

$60,000 annually
Quarterly bonus & year-end bonus opportunities

This role is ideal for a kitchen leader who wants full operational exposure - not just the back line.

SSP Canada is hiring an Assistant Kitchen Manager (Operations-Focused) to support a high-volume airport restaurant. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for both kitchen execution and floor operations, with real accountability for food quality, team performance, and guest experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Back of House execution while actively supporting floor operations
  • Run shifts and oversee daily service flow in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure food quality, safety, and brand standards are met consistently
  • Support labor planning, ordering, and cost controls
  • Coach, train, and develop hourly team members
  • Partner closely with the RGM to execute operational priorities

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2-3 years of kitchen or restaurant leadership experience
  • Comfort leading teams on the floor, not just in the kitchen
  • Strong understanding of high-volume service
  • Working knowledge of food safety, inventory, and labor controls
  • A collaborative, lead-from-the-front leadership style

Why This Role Works

  • Clear step-up path to broader management roles
  • Exposure to full restaurant operations, not siloed responsibilities
  • Competitive pay with bonus opportunities
  • Support from an experienced operations team

This position is located in a secure airport environment and a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) is required. All candidates must be legally authorised to work in Canada and must be able to provide the necessary government-issued documentation required for airport security clearance. Documentation will be reviewed during the onboarding process in accordance with Transport Canada regulations. Further information can be found at:
