STS Aerospace is looking for a Design Engineer that will be responsible for designing of all fixturing and tooling needed by the organization to manufacture assembly and inspect product.
Defining manufacturing methodology with design, manufacturing and process engineers
Write & edit special process procedures, operating instructions
Submit technical documents to quality for approval
Technical support for all personnel
Continuous Improvement of the process and documentation
Working with Project management on New Product Development
Working with tool room and machine shop
Receives input from manufacturing, process, method and manufacturing engineering
Rewrite or editing of documentation to capture changes in manufacturing method
Interpretation of customer specifications
Mistake Proofing
Creation of drawings for toolroom and machine shop
Listen to inputs from production, management, quality, planning and purchasing personnel and use those inputs to improve the process
Any other projects or designs requested by the Engineering or Production Manager
Safety – Design with safety of operators and company
Qualifications: Qualifications
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (preferably CREO/Pro-E), MS office product, Outlook, ERP Systems
Reading and interpretation of Blue prints and technical specifications
GD&T
Fixture design
Trained in problem-solving skills is important – 5 whys, fishbone diagram, six sigma, etc
Curious to solve problems, ability to brainstorm and experiment, open to new ideas, problem-solving skills
