area is seeking a
Design Engineer
to join its research and development team. This role is well suited for a hands-on mechanical engineer who enjoys product development, testing, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams.
Position Overview: The
Design Engineer
will be responsible for the design, testing, and validation of new and existing products. This individual will play a key role in translating customer and regulatory requirements into reliable, manufacturable designs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and new product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and execute design verification and validation plans Develop and document test procedures, fixtures, lab setups, and test reports Perform engineering analysis to solve complex design and performance challenges Conduct and support design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) Build expertise in applicable industry codes, standards, and compliance requirements Communicate effectively with customers to understand needs and provide technical support Support new product development from concept through production Create detailed 3D models, part drawings, and bills of materials using CAD software Assist manufacturing with production of first-article builds and design-for-manufacturing considerations Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and other projects as assigned Travel to customer locations as needed Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline 3-5+ years of relevant engineering experience Proficiency in 3D CAD software; experience with Creo strongly preferred Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment and test methodologies Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Customer-focused mindset with strong communication abilities High attention to detail and documentation accuracy Willingness and ability to travel as required
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and education, with an approximate range of
$80,000-$110,000 .
