Cyber Security Network Engineer Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, customer sites, and UK data centres) Team: Cyber Security – NOC About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Network Engineer to join our dynamic Cyber Security NOC team within a leading international advanced technology solutions provider. You’ll work across a diverse customer base spanning Finance, Manufacturing, Utilities, Retail, and other high‑criticality sectors. This is a hands-on, technically challenging role supporting our MSP/MSSP customers and their varied platforms. You’ll play a key part in delivering 24/7 availability of Cyber Security Services, contributing to incident response, problem resolution, and the design and implementation of complex solutions. Key Responsibilities Provide expert technical knowledge and guidance across the full lifecycle of customer engagements—from pre‑sales support through to design and implementation of complex solutions. Collaborate closely with internal teams to identify technical and business requirements and support solution design. Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota (currently 1 in 2, moving to 1 in 3/4) to support incident management and problem resolution. Support service reporting, service reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Travel occasionally to data centres or customer sites across the UK to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot network, infrastructure, virtualisation, and application technologies. Lead on specialist technical areas, acting as a subject matter expert and escalation point. Contribute to problem management, root cause analysis, and technical planning. Operate within an ITIL-based service delivery model, ensuring adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and the Service Catalogue. Carry out additional duties as required by the business. Skills & Technical Expertise Essential: * Cloud technologies: AWS / Azure * 5 -7 years’ hands-on experience in a similar role, operating at expert level within complex, high‑criticality environments. * Cisco CCNP+ and Nexus Switching * Cisco ASA / Firepower * Windows & Linux Server environments * OPNsense * Fortinet firewalls (ideally certified) * Check Point (CCSE/CCSM) * Palo Alto (certified) * Load balancing technologies * VMware (ESXi, vSAN) * Server rack management in live environments * ITIL (ticketing, change management) * Network monitoring tools * Defender / Sentinel (SIEM tooling) * Ability to produce HLDs and LLDs Desirable: Knowledge of IBM i Experience across MSP, national infrastructure, finance, manufacturing, or retail environments Qualifications Exposure to ITIL frameworks Ability to achieve CISSP within 18 months Strong Cyber/Information Security background (able to pass SC screening) Personal Attributes Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities High level of independent judgement and initiative Self‑motivated, self‑managed, and resilient Able to handle confidential information professionally Demonstrates and promotes company values, principles, and code of conduct Committed to delivering exceptional customer service Willingness to work from any company office or client site with reasonable notice Contributes to value‑for‑money service delivery and efficient use of resources Why Join Us?
