About
Our Durham, North Carolina, logistics center is looking for a proactive Warehouse Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and safety. You will be responsible for overseeing key warehouse functions, including inventory management, coordination of incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring proper organization of stock. Your duties will involve managing warehouse staff on a daily basis, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. You will work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to implement operational improvements and maintain high standards. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a solid understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS). A strong commitment to safety is crucial; you will enforce safety regulations, conduct safety checks, and ensure all team members adhere to guidelines and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership potential, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to operational excellence within our logistics network. Some Lifting may be required, and adherence to all safety protocols is mandatory. Join us and play a key role in optimizing our warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in overseeing daily warehouse activities.
- Coordinate the receiving, stocking, and shipping of goods.
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and system updates.
- Supervise and guide warehouse associates to ensure efficient task completion.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Enforce all safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
- Track shipments and liaise with carriers as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in logistics operations.
- Assist in training new warehouse staff on procedures and safety.
- Resolve operational issues and discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and generate basic operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably in a coordinating role.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices, including PPE.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting and operate material handling equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Proactive and able to identify and address potential issues.
- Reliable and committed to fulfilling job responsibilities.
