We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in Chicago, Illinois. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including staffing, workflow management, inventory control, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for guiding and motivating your team, setting performance goals, and conducting regular performance reviews. You will play a vital role in optimizing logistics processes, from receiving and put-away to picking, packing, and shipping. Your leadership will ensure that orders are processed accurately and on time, contributing directly to customer satisfaction. This position demands a strong understanding of warehouse management principles, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to foster a positive and productive work environment. You will be instrumental in enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring that all team members are properly trained and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ability to manage daily operations, address challenges proactively, and implement effective solutions is essential. Experience with inventory systems and a proven track record in managing warehouse staff are highly desirable. This role involves some Lifting and requires a proactive approach to safety and operational excellence within our logistics hub.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities and staff.
- Manage receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
- Oversee inventory management, including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures to optimize workflow.
- Ensure efficient order fulfillment and timely shipment of goods.
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse personnel to achieve productivity and quality targets.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety hazards promptly.
- Manage the scheduling of staff and resources to meet operational demands.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Handle employee relations issues and performance management.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare operational reports.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory management.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent understanding of safety regulations and experience implementing safety programs.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant software.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting and operate various warehouse equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
