About
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping & Receiving Associate to manage the flow of goods in and out of our facility in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is critical to our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring that inventory is managed effectively and efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring the smooth transit of materials.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and document incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Process and document outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations.
- Prepare shipping labels and manifests.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (certification may be required).
- Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety and the correct use of PPE .
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in reconciliation.
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve issues.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed to support the team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving roles.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts (valid license preferred).
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE .
- Familiarity with logistics and shipping documentation.
