We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator for our facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this critical role, you will operate forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and safe movement of goods within our distribution center, contributing significantly to our logistics operations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of forklift operation, warehouse safety standards, and has a proven ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment. You will conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, maintain a clean work area, and strictly adhere to all safety guidelines. This position involves physical activity and requires the capacity for lifting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear aisles.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts.
- Verify load accuracy and product information.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
- Perform other warehouse duties as required, including lifting and manual handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to regulations.
- Good physical coordination and stamina.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
