We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse facility in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks, stocking inventory, and retrieving items for order fulfillment. Your attention to detail and adherence to Safety procedures are critical in this role. You will operate various types of forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring the secure transport of goods. This position involves frequent Lifting of items and requires the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Proper use of PPE is mandatory at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and others. This role is integral to our overall Logistics operation, ensuring that goods are moved efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Ensure all loads are secure and safely transported.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety protocols and wear designated PPE .
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient Logistics flow.
- Participate in physical inventory counts as needed.
- Be capable of occasional manual Lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
- Experience with various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up).
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety regulations and the importance of PPE .
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and Logistics .
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
