We are hiring an experienced Picker/Packer for our fast-paced logistics facility in Detroit, Michigan. This role is critical for ensuring that orders are accurately fulfilled and prepared for shipment. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from inventory and packing them securely for transit. Your attention to detail and efficiency are paramount to our operational success and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick specified items from warehouse shelves using order lists or scanners.
- Inspect picked items for damage or defects before packing.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and pack items securely and efficiently.
- Verify order accuracy against shipping documents.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing station and work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions precisely.
- Must comply with all safety guidelines and use designated PPE.
- Familiarity with basic logistics processes is a plus.
